Marketing for physiotherapy clinics

Physiotherapy is the vertical where the arithmetic is tightest. A session is worth a fraction of an implant, the patient decides in a day and the whole business depends on whether they come back for the rest of the course. Marketing that only chases new patients loses money here.

What changes

  • The patient searches in pain, decides in an afternoon and picks whoever is closest and free tomorrow.

  • There are four other clinics within a kilometre and none of them look different online.

  • Half the patients drop out after session three and the course of treatment is never finished.

  • The ticket is too low to make paid advertising add up on its own.

Low ticket, high frequency. The maths only works with retention.

Two things decide this vertical and neither is a campaign. The first is local search: the map result, the Google Business profile, the reviews and a page per neighbourhood and per problem, because a patient in pain does not scroll and does not travel. The second is retention, which is a marketing job here even though nobody treats it as one: the reminder that stops the drop-off after session three, the follow-up that finishes the course, the reactivation of the patient whose back went again eight months later. A clinic that adds ten new patients a month and loses six halfway through has a retention problem, not a visibility problem, and buying more visibility makes it worse.

How it runs

Local search first

Google Business profile, map pack, reviews and a page per neighbourhood and per problem. In this vertical that outranks everything else.

A page per problem, not per technique

The patient searches for their pain, not for your method. Lower back, shoulder, running injuries, post-operative recovery: each with its own page and its own booking route.

Retention as a marketing channel

Automated reminders and follow-up through the course of treatment, so the drop-off after session three becomes a number somebody is responsible for.

Reactivation on a calendar

The patient treated last winter is the cheapest appointment available. Nobody writes to them, and it takes one automation.

Questions

Does 1.900 euros a month make sense for a small practice?

Honestly, only if the maths works. With a low session ticket you need the volume and the retention to carry it. On the free audit we work the numbers with you, and if the answer is no, we say no rather than sell you a plan that will be cancelled in four months.

Is this all local SEO?

That is the biggest single lever, but the retention side usually pays for the plan faster, because it costs nothing to write to a patient who already knows you.

Can we advertise specific techniques?

You can describe what a technique involves and who it suits. What is not published is a claimed clinical result or a cure, in physiotherapy as in everything else here.

We have several sites. Does that change things?

Yes, and for the better: one page per site, its own Google Business profile and its own neighbourhood content. Multi-site clinics that run everything from one generic page are leaving most of their local search on the table.
